Ankari 51

Nice Peruvian restaurant located in Hollywood, FL.  I went a Saturday and there was live music, I'm not a fan of it, but it was not too loud.  As an appetizer, Ceviche Carretillero
Ceviche street. Classic fish ceviche and fried calamari. Clasico ceviche de pescado y calamar frito.

The portion was enough for 2 as an appetizer, this was in the ceviche menu, not the appetizers.  Well balanced flavors, strong lime taste but blended perfectly in the "Tiger's Milk".  The fish was delicious and the calamari well cooked, not soggy, not rubbery.  Kudos!

For the main entrees, Churrasco con Risotto a La HuancainaGrilled steak beef served w. Peruvian huancaina risotto.
I asked for the steak medium because not every restaurant understand the terms the same way.  In this case medium was medium and it was really good; next time I will try it medium rare.  The risotto was a bit of a shock to me because I was expecting something else.  In my opinion, this sauce is too cheesy and thick for risotto, it tasted like risotto n' cheese!  Not like Mac n' Cheese, the sauce is made with cheese and yellow peppers, don't get me wrong, it was not bad, just a little too much sauce for my taste and too much food.

The next entree, Bistec a lo Pobre - Skirt steak with egg. Juicy skirt steak served with fried eggs and plantain. Jugoso bistec servido con huevos fritos y platano frito.

This one I think is listed incorrect on the menu, this was not skirt steak, it was similar to a minute steak.  With that said, it was tasty and perfectly made, the beans were savory and the rest was normal.  Again the portions are too much food.

Last but not least, dessert!  Mango Cheescake
This was really good, the cheesecake was a little bit like mousse and the mango topping combination was perfect.  It had a piece of hard dark chocolate on top with whip cream that looked like it was chocolate but had no taste.
